Kids Really Do Say the Darndest Things

Yesterday, Dan called to Morgan to come to him, and she kept playing and ignored him. He went and picked her up and put her in his lap and started explaining (lecturing) to her why she needs to obey. He told me later that she just looked up at him and said, "Are you done yet?"

A few weeks ago, Noelle said, "Mom, I'm going to have 19 kids when I grow up," then she sighed dramatically, "I'm sure going to be tired from giving all those spank 'uns...."

On Sunday, I did the ever popular, thumb-removal trick for the girls, they totally bought it, and when I tried to teach them how I did it, they were practically crying because they didn't want me to take their thumbs off.

Lastly, Morgan again. On Saturday morning, she took her nice, plush, monogrammed blanket out into the front yard. Dan told her in a very stern voice that she needed to keep that blanket inside so it wouldn't get messed up. She looked up at him, and then clutched the blanket to her face, and said, "But I love it." You had to be there, but trust me, it was cute.

Cute!...oh they do! Our little Coleson really is ALL boy and the other day was climbing up Terry's golf bag (yes, so very unsturdy!) and I said, "Coleson, please dont do that, you could fall and daddy wouldnt be very happy if you bent those" He says very seriously with a furrowed (annoyed) brow, "But mom, I am adventure man" oh, it sure is hard not to laugh sometimes. (he is referring Bear Grylls-"man vs. wild").... and he isnt supposed to take sand out of his sandbox, which I have caught him doing a time or two. This particular time he was putting it in his riding loader bucket. I reminded him how he isnt supposed to do this and he says, "But mom, it's hay for my cows" as if then it's okay. (inlaws have cows and had a dairy farm...) silly boy. Ok, I will stop boring you now! ha!

Ha! The thumb trick is big around here too. Ella now has it mastered but Tess has had the same panic moment when faced with the prospect of having her thumb removed. Larry loves to tease all the cousins with it.

I love it....Avila doesn't do much but scream when I take my phone away from her and screams at the dinner table when no one is taking to her. I'm not sure she will grow up to say cute things like your kids. I will just blog about the cuteness of her many different screams. Who would have though I would such a LOUD child!!!
